When Not to Hire Continuity
We're big believers in finding the right fit—even if that means we're not it.
Not every advisor transition requires a dedicated transition management team. Some moves are relatively straightforward, involve few accounts, or have internal resources capable of managing the operational workload.
If that's your situation, we're happy to say so.
If You're Still Deciding Where to Go
Our work begins after you've made the strategic decision.
If you're still evaluating firms, interviewing recruiters, comparing custodians, or deciding whether to launch an RIA, you'll likely benefit more from a recruiter, consultant, attorney, or compliance professional first.
Once that decision is made, we'd be happy to help execute it.
If Your Transition Is Very Simple
Some advisor transitions involve:
- A small number of client accounts.
- Minimal operational complexity.
- No unusual account types.
- Strong internal operations staff.
- Plenty of available time.
Those transitions may not require outside project management.
If You Already Have an Experienced Internal Transition Team
Some larger RIAs and enterprises have dedicated operations professionals who have managed dozens—or hundreds—of advisor transitions.
If your internal team has the capacity, experience, and processes to manage your transition successfully, additional coordination may not provide significant value.
If You're Looking for Legal or Compliance Advice
Continuity is not a law firm.
We do not provide legal advice, tax advice, investment advice, or regulatory compliance opinions.
Those questions should always be directed to qualified legal, tax, and compliance professionals.
We coordinate execution alongside those professionals—we don't replace them.
If You're Looking for a Recruiter
We don't recruit advisors.
We don't negotiate transition packages. We don't recommend one custodian, broker-dealer, or RIA over another.
Our responsibility begins after those decisions have already been made.
When We Probably Are a Good Fit
You should consider Continuity if you:
- Are managing a complex transition.
- Have a large or valuable book of business.
- Want to minimize operational risk.
- Need experienced project management.
- Want to protect client relationships.
- Prefer preparation over reacting to problems.
- Would rather spend your time serving clients than managing paperwork.
We'd Rather Be Honest
We're not interested in convincing every advisor they need our services.
We're interested in helping the advisors who genuinely benefit from experienced transition execution.
If we're the right fit, we'll tell you. If we're not, we'll tell you that too.
Long-term trust is more valuable than a short-term engagement.
